The Christmas Oratorio was Bach's magnificent Christmas present to his congregation and to all of us. David Gordon describes the work's creation and its first performance in 1734.

Join EMMY® award-winning composer and musician John Wineglass for an informal discussion on how Bach's imprint on music has transcended generations. 

Tous les matins du monde

Studio 105 | John Wineglass, presenter and William Skeen, viola da gamba

John Wineglass connects to the music of the French film Tous le matins du monde through a conversation with the audience and a live demonstration of the viola da gamba, the instrument featured in the film. 

A seven-time EMMY® nominated (three time award-winning) composer, Mr. Wineglass is also a professional violist and keyboardist. In mainstream genres, John Wineglass has performed with GRAMMY®-Award Winning artists and producers, including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans. On various guest-conductor performances, Mr. Wineglass has served under the direction of internationally acclaimed conductors including Maestro Kurt Masur (New York Philharmonic) and Marin Alsop (Baltimore Symphony).
